Eggless Chocolate Cake!!!

Any chocolate lovers here??? I am ofcourse but, are you too??!!! Here’s Cholocate cake for you then. For all those who are looking for an eggless cake, this is a wonderful treat. This is a recipe borrowed and since it was my first shot to an eggless cake, I was so keen about the measurements. It really turned out amazingly tasty. My chocolate frosting(store bought) added more yumminess to this. This was the cake I made for my Valentine!! 🙂 Here’s it, all yours 🙂 Happy Cooking!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups All purpose flour/Maida
3 tbsp Coco powder
1/4 cup oil
1 cup Sugar
1 tsp Baking soda
1 tbsp lemon/lime juice
1 cup Water
1/4 tsp Salt
2 tsp Vanilla Essence

Method:

1. Preheat oven at 350F. Take a mixing bowl, mix sugar, salt and water until sugar dissolves. Then add oil, vanilla essence and lemon juice. Mix again.

2. Sieve the flour, baking powder and coco powder together to avoid any lumps.

3. Stir in the above flour mix into the water mix. Grease a cake pan with oil and then pour the batter into it.

4. Bake it for 40 mins or until the toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

5. Let it settle down for about 15 mins once it is out of the oven.

6. Now, flip it over a wire rack and let it cool completely.

7. Transfer it to a cake tray and  go ahead with the frosting you like, then decorate!

8. A moist chocolaty chocolate cake is ready. It’s cake cutting time!!! 🙂

My Chocolate Frosting:

I have used Betty crocker’s chocolate frosting. Take around 4 tbsp of frosting in a bowl. Add 2 tsp vanilla essence to it. Beat it well with a spoon and it will loosen up nicely. It’s now ready for frosting.

Note:

I felt like it needs little more sweetness. May be I’ll alter few things next time I bake this just to impress my tastebuds even more. Will keep posting the updates if so.
